Kal Tek

Kal Tek is a multi-talented creative force with a deep passion for music, film, and storytelling. By the age of 11, he was already writing original songs and recording them on a karaoke machine. In high school, a standout performance at a talent show ignited his love for the stage — and by 1999, Kal knew entertainment was his calling.

He pursued his dreams while also preparing for the future, earning a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications with a minor in History from Jackson State University. During his time there, Kal worked as a DJ for WJSU, the university’s jazz radio station, while continuing to hone his skills as a songwriter, performer, and actor.

Kal’s talents led him to collaborate with numerous creative firms including EyeVox Entertainment, where he worked on projects ranging from Primos Hunting Calls and Mississippi State Trooper training videos to the short film Blindsided, which was submitted for On The Lot, a FOX competition series judged by Steven Spielberg and Brett Ratner. He also co-created Dream Weaver for the Madison County School District—a powerful dropout prevention video distributed across the district.

After moving to Florida in 2009, Kal worked as a photographer, reporter, and sports anchor for SNN6 in Sarasota. His time in media led him to Faced Productions, where he expanded his portfolio with music videos and film scores. He wrote and performed the title track for Mangrove Slasher 2, making a cameo appearance in the film, which premiered at the Sarasota Film Festival. His songwriting was also featured in Pique by Righteous Entertainment.

In 2013, Kal Tek was recruited by BFG Communications for a campaign with Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company. He wrote original lyrics and served as a music consultant, flying to New Mexico to collaborate directly with the marketing team—a testament to his creative instincts and professional versatility.

Whether it’s on stage, behind the camera, or in the studio, Kal Tek brings vision, grit, and unstoppable drive to everything he does. A true Renaissance man, he continues to inspire with his relentless work ethic and commitment to the craft.
